How I long for the smell of the sea, its breezes tickling my nose and cleaning with fresh iodine what has been polluted of my blood from the impact of Cairo’s smoke resulting from car exhausts, workshops and factories sometimes.

When can I sit comfortably on the ground, leaning my back against a small wooden chair fixed in the soft sand, and my feet playing gently on the sandy shore as I contemplate infinity?

And enjoy the warmth of the sun’s rays until it wraps its golden cloak around the red disk hanging between the sky and earth as if it were the hyphen connecting them. And paints its varying colors into a beautiful painting between all shades of red and orange where it mixes with the blue of the sky and penetrates through the white summer clouds. Then the stunning painting descends slowly to the sea surface, dressing the lightly swaying waves in a gorgeous gown of all the colors of the spectrum, swaying to music that captivates the mind with a magical charm that dazzles the eyes, and the sweet sound of calm water completes the splendor of His creative work, praise be to Him.

A stunning scene where the sun bids farewell to Alexandria’s sky, and sinks into the sea water like the crown of a queen whose gems scatter from the waves that were dressed in her beautiful colors as she hurries away, so her rays follow her. She slowly pulls the color beads of her crown further and further apart. So darkness gradually covers the sky and sea, and the gorgeous colors disappear under the growing shadows, were it not for the moon glow and scattered stars like distant diamonds that wander beautifully, whispering to the moaning sound of the waves strengthened a little by the refreshing air.

As if she hid to allow us some stillness and rest on a promise of another meeting in a few hours when the golden procession of the sun returns with its bright radiance, charming appearance awakening the sleepy, warming the air with its rays to start a new day with a renewed story every moment, awaiting lovers coming from all directions to the bride of the seas.
